4. Ismail Bello. 30 years old. Nigeria.

Ismail is an award winning ICT Consultant, Youth Advocate and Community Organizer. He championed the #NotTooYoungToRun campaign which led to its successful delivery in Katsina State. Ismail is a young emerging leader passionate about youth participation in politics with over six years’ experience in the field of youth leadership, empowerment, advocacy, volunteering, project organizing and data management.

In 2015, Ismail co-founded the Youth Entrepreneurship Support Hub (YesHub), which is a youth initiative creating business leaders of tomorrow through knowledge sharing, mentorship and access to investors. Ismail also co-founded Clossaxx ICT and founded Youth Privy Global Initiative, which is an online platform for leadership preparations to harness global opportunities. Ismail has attended and facilitated several trainings, workshops and conference both locally, nationally and at international level.

Academically, Ismail studied Civic Leadership at the YALI Regional Leadership Center West Africa Accra, Ghana in 2015; obtained an Executive Certificate in Employee Behavior Management at the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Business Management Development (CELBMD) Africa, Kumbo, Cameroon in 2016. He holds a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certificate from the Internetworkz Institute Bangalore, India and a certificate in Social Sector Leadership from the Philanthropy University, affiliate of BerkeleyHaas, Haas School of Business, University of California. Ismail also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Al – Qalam University, Katsina State and M.Sc. Information Technology from the National Open University of Nigeria. He had his mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2013 at Government Girls Day Secondary School Zurmi, Zamfara State and received Award of merit from the Zamfara State Government as one of the Best Serving Corp Members in the 2013/2014 NYSC Service Year.

Ismail started his working career as Assistant Lecturer at Yusufu Bala Usman College of Legal and General Studies, Daura in 2014 and worked as Network Administrator at BETI ICT Institute Ltd, Katsina in 2015 and worked as an ICT Consultant with the Katsina State Government Department of Empowerment and Special Interventions (DESI) from 2016 – 2020. Ismail is a 2019 fellow of ECOWAS National Youth Dialogue on Peace and Nation Building, Fellow Acumen Corps, Project Presenter at 2019 International Labour Organization (ILO) Global Youth Employment Forum and a 2020 World Literacy Foundation Fellow.
